The discussion goes from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thanks to The Moirae Group for sponsoring this book club discussion. The first 10 registrations get a free copy of the book! The Amazon book review describes the book in this way: "We're all afraid. We're afraid of asking for what we want because we're afraid of hearing 'no.' We're afraid of being different, of being too much or not enough. But in order to do the things that will truly, meaningfully change our lives, we have to become professional troublemakers: people who are committed to not letting fear talk them out of the things they need to do or say to live free." Author Luvvie Ajayi Jones is known for her trademark wit, warmth, and perpetual truth-telling. But even she's been challenged by the enemy of progress known as fear. As she shares in Professional Troublemaker, she's not alone. This is an outdoor in-person event. However, we will continue monitoring the city and state's restrictions on gathering and follow those guidelines on the day of the event. Clouds Brewing Raleigh 126 N. Add to Calendar ISPE-CaSA 2022 Life Sciences Technology Conference - Aligning Technology, Talent, and Transformation. CALL FOR ABSTRACTS Call for Program Abstracts!  After over a year in lockdown due to COVID-19, we are excited to host our 29th annual ISPE-CaSA Life Sciences Technology Conference on February 15, 2022 in person at the Raleigh Convention Center. The planning process is underway and we are seeking speakers to help solidify our education track. Make plans now to submit an abstract! Our submission site is open and ready for you. The deadline is Monday, November 1, 2021. The events of 2020 forced major change within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. From social distancing and working from home to the expedited release of vaccines, we proved that no matter the circumstances, our dedicated professionals and industry leaders will always find a way to push innovation forward. The uncertainty felt at the height of the pandemic has shifted greatly since then. Growth and prosperity are flourishing as evidenced by vast employment opportunities, novel drug/therapy development, and new businesses flocking to the area in droves. To dig into what our potential needs will look like as well as what the response may be, the 2022 ISPE-CaSA Tech Conference is focusing on three main areas: Technology - Explore new innovations for research, development and manufacturing Talent - Where will firms find their next crop of skilled employees, and how do we train and retain them? Transformation - From unprecedented collaboration, continued growth of gene therapy and the proliferation of novel therapies and technologies we have yet to imagine...how do we set ourselves up for continued success in an ever-changing landscape? Registration for the 2022 Tech Conference will open soon. Watch this page and our e-Blasts.   Here's what your peers have said about their Tech Conference experience:      "I see great value in the ISPE CASA Technology Conference.  Every year I look forward to attending the various speakers and presentations to see what the current trends are across our industry.  It is especially helpful to network with the local industry leaders and providers all in one location.  Throughout the various stages of my career I have always been able to find value in the conference, bringing back applicable knowledge and new contacts for what we do every day."  SCOTT BILLMAN, Global Head of Engineering at Biogen, and was recently elected to the International ISPE Board of Directors and was a Past President of the CaSA Chapter.      "The ISPE CASA Technology Conference is a great opportunity to network, learn, and socialize with your biopharma colleagues from the Carolinas and South Atlantic States.  Keynote sessions always feature industry leaders with a connection to the region; technical tracks provide for the most relevant and current content from ISPE’s body of knowledge, and there is plenty of time to connect with vendors to learn about the latest technologies.  Social events allow for plenty of time to renew old connections and make new ones.  I look forward to the conference every year."   TIM HOWARD, CPIP, PE is VP of Human Resources Development for CAI and is past chair of the International ISPE Board of Directors.   Take a look at our recent 2021 Event eProgram!
